Along with existing moves such as Homing Attack, players can now utilise the game’s newly added skills. In the daytime mode, players can control Sonic characters in a 2D or 3D environment. Each level will be set in a different region of the real world map. Sonic will transform into Wereoose in this mode and fight the enemy with the brute force of Wereoose. The game features two distinct play styles that players can experiment with during the day or night. With the storey centred on Sonic characters, the player will take control of those characters in order to defeat the antagonist Doctor Eggman and restore the world.
